AI Quiz Helper · Last updated: June 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the AI Quiz Helper browser extension ("the Extension", "we", "our") handles information. By installing and using the Extension, you agree to the practices described below.

In short: The Extension does not run its own servers, does not collect analytics, and does not sell or share your data. The only data that leaves your browser is the quiz text you choose to solve, which is sent directly to the AI provider you configure, using your own API key.

1. Information We Process

a. Configuration data you provide

This configuration is stored locally in your browser using the Chrome storage.sync API. If you are signed in to your browser, it may be synced across your own devices by your browser vendor. It is never transmitted to us.

b. Quiz / page content

When you trigger the Extension to solve a quiz, it reads the relevant question and answer-option text from the current web page and sends it to the AI provider you configured in order to obtain an answer. This happens only when you actively request it.

2. How Information Is Used

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not operate any backend server and do not receive any of your data. The only third party involved is the AI provider you choose (for example, Groq, Google Gemini, OpenAI-compatible services, or GitHub Models). The quiz text and your API key are sent directly from your browser to that provider over HTTPS. Your use of that provider is governed by the provider's own privacy policy and terms of service.

We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal information.

4. Data Retention

5. Permissions

The Extension requests the following browser permissions:

6. Security

Your API key is stored using the browser's built-in storage and transmitted only to the AI endpoint you configure, over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Please keep your API key confidential and revoke it from your provider if you believe it has been compromised.

7. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

9. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact the developer at your-email@example.com.
